The tens of thousands of young people who have walked the same halls for almost 100 years have each come away with different experiences and lessons that shaped their lives. As each of the 92 years of Kimtahs (formerly the Blue and Gold) were perused page by page one thread was found to be common throughout those years.
As you watch the years unfold you realize the people you see are just like us. Those 1920s students had the same hopes and dreams that we all do: dreams of success, happiness, and peace. They walked some of the same halls of West Seattle High where today’s students gather. We all have as much in common as we have differences. Each class in the 92 years captured in this video slideshow had their class clowns, cutest couples, jocks, scholars, and those most likely to succeed.
From the first graduating class in 1912 to today’s graduates we all share a common bond. Whether one identifies as an Indian or Wildcat really doesn’t matter. The one fact that does matter is we all proudly carry the same WEST SEATTLE banner. You can’t hide that Westside Pride!
The video runs for almost an hour with over 600 photos. Many of you will be surprised to see yourself, parents or even in some cases your grandparents. As you see the video “loading” towards the bottom of the display, you’ll be able to fast-forward.
