HELLO WSHS CLASS OF 1972 !
We will be celebrating our 50th Reunion in 2022! Save the date – Saturday, July 30, 2022 from noon until 5:00 p.m. at Glen Acres Golf Club. We will have registration information available later.
Until now, all reunion information has been posted on the class FaceBook page at WSHS Class of 1972. If you are on Facebook, please consider joining our class group. (Note: Make sure it is our class as there are WSHS Class of 1972 pages from other parts of the country.)
In an effort to reach out to those who do not participate in Facebook or are not members of the class FaceBook page, we sent an email on November 30th to 190 classmates for whom we have email addresses. Unfortunately, we are missing the rest of over 500 classmates. Twenty-seven of the 190 were returned as undeliverable. If you received the email, please forward to any classmates who may not do FaceBook. If you did not receive the email, we may not have your correct email, so please send it to kathitter@gmail.com. Sending emails is free – postage and printing is expensive. Your contact information is kept confidential and only used by the West Seattle High School Alumni Association and your class representatives to distribute information about the class and reunions. It is challenging to keep track of classmates. We appreciate your help in providing updated information. Following is a list of “lost” classmates, meaning we have no mailing address for them. MUSIC – We would like to stream background music from our era during the reunion. Can you provide or recommend a play list or music stream from our class era?

ZOOM! We need a volunteer with a ZOOM account and laptop to set up virtual attendance so that those who are unable to attend in person can still participate. If you have a ZOOM account and are willing to help with this, please contact kathitter@gmail.com.
MEMORY BOARD and MILITARY BOARD We will have a photo display of classmates who are no longer with us (the list is too long!) and a display of gratitude for those who served in the US Military. If you served, please email a photo of you in uniform with the branch of military, time served and rank achieved to kathitter@gmail.com.
COST The 50th is a milestone event and the committee would like to help as many people attend as possible with cost not being the deterrent for coming. To reduce or eliminate the registration fee, we have set up a GOFUNDME ACCOUNT at WSHS Class of 1972 50th Reunion. The Class of 1971 was able to raise over $20,000 which eliminated the need for a registration fee and provided a $5,000 contribution to the Alumni Association. Based on their experience at the same venue, we estimate a cost of $12,000 to cover the rent, food, mailer, etc. This works out to $80 to $100 per person, depending on the number attending. Our GOAL is to raise a minimum of $15,000. The balance will be donated to the Alumni Association as our legacy to the school – a tradition for the class celebrating their 50th which keeps your Alumni Association operating.
Whether you donate $10, $100 or $1000 to the cause, it will be immensely appreciated by our classmates and enable all to attend. You can help with your time, money or both. Look for ‘WSHS Class of 1972 50th Reunion’ on the GoFundMe website to make your donation and, spread the word!
