Ross & Viola Galbreath Scholarship
Dear WSHS Alumni Association,
Thank you so much for the continuation of my Galbreath Scholarship. Your financial support has made a profound impact on my life; without your aid, I would not be a Chemical Engineering student at the UW. My education has provided me with wonderful opportunities in this past year. For instance, I started researching thin film solar cells and I get to use state of the art technology and processes, such as a scanning electron microscope, to do so. I also started working on expanding a water system for a remote town in Nicaragua through the student club Engineers without Borders. These experiences and so much more, are memories I will cherish forever and they never could have happened without your support.
Being able to go through college without financial stress is the best gift anyone has ever given me. Thank you so much. I promise to keep working hard and do WSHS proud. From the bottom of my heart, I thank the Alumni Association and the Galbreath family. I am forever indebted and can’t wait to pay it back to the WSHS Alumni Asociation.
Thank you,
Annalisa Ursino

To the Alumni,
Your continued support means the world to me and to my family. This past year has had it’s ups and downs, but a constant throughout has been the knowledge that if I continue to persevere, to become a better and harder working person, I will have the backing of the Alumni as I do so.
This support means everything. At the halfway point of my undergraduate career, I look back and realize I may not have gotten to this point were it not for the Alumni. The Galbreath scholarship is a motivator, that much is assured; but what the money represents, the knowledge there are people invested in my education is just as significant and a feeling I know I am surely blessed to have.
So once again I thank the Alumni for everything. It is truly appreciated and will not ever be forgotten.
Sincerely,
Ned Sander

Dear Alumni Association,
My freshman year at the University of Washington has proven to be more interesting and challenging than I could have ever predicted. Throughout my time there I have discovered many things about myself and have grown a tremendous amount. I have experienced stress that I have never felt before, made friends from around the world and learned many things about myself I never would have discovered if I had not been subjected to university life. I want to say thank you to all who have supported me in my endeavors and allowed me this opportunity. Without your help, I would not have this chance to better myself as a human being and mold myself into the man I want to become. The generosity of the Alumni Association of West Seattle High School shall forever receive my undying gratitude. Thank you all for what you have done for me.
Sincerely,
